About Deborah

Deborah Paetzhold McCorkle was born in Oregon, first came to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1969 and stayed to study forestry, botany, ecology, and conservation. She has worked with plants and trees all her life, and specifically with medicinal herbs for nearly 30 years. After 7 years homesteading in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and Idaho, she spent 4 years in Naturopathic medical clinics as office manager, Dr.'s assistant and botanical pharmacist. Formal herbal training began in 1981 through Dominion Herbal College in Burnaby, BC. Herbs as a business began in 1985, during training with Cascade Anderson-Geller, Herbalist and Instructor at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Deborah is currently owner, operator, and formulator of Alaska Herbworks; attending ongoing training, and working on book versions of Home Pharmacy and other favorite classes. Classes are offered in Alaska, Canada and the Pacific NW. Deborah is NOT a doctor. No medical claims are made for these products.
