PRIORY MAY HAVE AIDED WAR CRIMINALS
LYON, France Ñ Roman Catholic officials ranging from monks to bishops for decades helped one of France's most notorious suspected war criminals evade justice, church-appointed investigators concluded today.
Paul Touvier, 76, charged with crimes against humanity, headed the pro-Nazi militia in Lyon during World War II.
He was arrested in May 1989 at the St. Francis Priory in Nice.
The priory, run by followers of the late Roman Catholic fundamentalist leader Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, had sheltered Touvier for years.
Touvier professes deep Roman Catholic faith.
His presence at the priory raised anew questions about church links to France's collaborationist war time Vichy government and attitudes toward the Holocaust in which 6 million Jews died.
-END QUOTE-
DURING WW2, ROMAN CATHOLICISM WAS COMPLETELY CONTROLLED BY "LEFEBVRE" TYPE ROMAN CATHOLICS WHO ENTHUSIASTICALLY SUPPORTED THE NAZI, USTASHA, AND FASCIST REGIMES.
THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE "QUESTIONS" ABOUT THE ROMAN CATHOLIC SUPPORT OF NAZI, USTASHA,AND FASCIST REGIMES ARE PEOPLE WHO DESIRE TO REMAIN IGNORANT.
