BYLAWS of the FROSTY FEATHERS POULTRY CLUB

ACCEPTED BY MAJORITY VOTE: March 18, 1995

  1. NAME
    This organization shall be known as the Frosty Feathers Poultry Club, Inc.

  2. PURPOSE
    The Frosty Feathers Poultry Club is a non-profit organization dedicated, but not limited, to the following functions:
    1. Education of club members and of the general public in matters related to production of poultry for eggs, meat, exhibition, and recreation;
    2. Improvement of poultry production practices in Interior Alaska;
    3. Encourage cooperation and communication among poultry owners;

  3. MEMBERSHIP

  4. ANNUAL MEETING
    The annual business meeting will be held in April of each year. Election of officers will be conducted at this meeting. Fifty per cent of the current membership present and voting shall constitute a quorum at the annual meeting.

  5. OFFICERS
    Officers of the Frosty Feathers Poultry Club shall be: President; Vice President; Secretary; Treasurer. Any office vacated at a time other than the end of term shall be filled for the remainder of the term by one appointed by the president, except where otherwise provided herein. No person shall hold office who is not a member in good standing.

  6. FINANCIAL OBLIGATION
    No officer, individual, or committee shall render the club liable for any amount exceeding that appropriated by majority vote at a regular business meeting or at an emergency meeting convened pursuant to section 5.A.5.2 herein. Any member may choose to expend personal funds and request reimbursement at a regular business meeting. However, the club is under no obligation to honor such request if the expenditure was not previously approved by the membership.

  7. AMENDMENT OF BYLAWS
    Recommendations for amendment of these bylaws may be submitted in writing to the bylaws committee at any time. The bylaws committee will review all suggestions for compatibility with existing bylaws. The bylaws committee will present the submission, along with their recommendation for approval or against approval, to the membership at the next annual business meeting. A second reading of suggestions will be conducted at the next regular business meeting at which time a vote will be conducted concerning each suggestion. A majority vote with no less than fifty per cent of the current membership voting is required for any amendment of the bylaws to carry.

  8. Attendance of club functions by non-members
    It will be the policy of the Frosty Feathers Poultry Club that non-members are welcome to attend all club functions. However, non-members who attend more than three consecutive club functions will be strongly encouraged to pay dues and become a club member. While meetings will not be closed to anyone, those declining to pay dues will be strongly discouraged from attending multiple club functions.
